Favourite summer cheek products

I LOVE cheek products- blushers, highlighters, bronzers- they can really transform the face into a perfectly sculpted, glowing master piece! In summer, glowing, dewy skin is a must have, and so I thought I would do a post outlining my favourite summer cheek products!

The highlighter
Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft & Gentle, purchased from Canada, available from David Jones and Myer in Australia, RRP $47 from Mac

I find this highlighter perfect for my pale skin. It's a champagne colour with golden sheen, and the colour perfectly translates to the skin. It's highly pigmented, and gives me the most gorgeous glow. This is also lovely on other skin tones. I apply this using my Real Techniques Blush brush on the tops of my cheekbones and up to the temple area.

The blush
Nars blush in Orgasm, purchased from Canada, available in Australia from Mecca, RRP $45

It's no wonder this is a cult beauty product. It's the most beautiful peachy-pink blush, with a lovely golden shimmer throughout it. I have worn this almost daily since purchasing, as it's hard for anything to live up to it! I apply this using my Real Techniques Blush brush, applying it on the apples of my cheeks.

The bronzer
Benefit Hoola bronzing powder, available from Myer RRP $51

I have tried many matte bronzers, however hadn't found my favourite until I tried Hoola. I purchased Powderazzi from the lovely Jaycee , a Benefit trio which has Dallas, Coralista, and the amazing Hoola. This is perfect for my pale skin, and never appears muddy. I apply this in the hollows of my cheeks using my Real Techniques Blush brush.

I hope you enjoyed this post, and let me know what your must have summer cheek products are!

An oily-skinned girl's guide to flawless skin

I'm one of those girls who is blessed with oily skin. I may accept this in the future when my skin looks better for it, however right now I have to deal with my face being the same consistency of an oil slick. Yuck.

Fortunately, I've perfected my foundation routine, and in doing this I can have flawless make-up that lasts all day!

After I have washed my face, I use Model's Prefer Matte Me, a pore minimising moisturiser with MP and aqua flex. This has become my favourite moisturiser, and at $24.95 from Priceline it's a great price. It really does keep oilyness at bay, as well as minimising pores.

If you have oily skin, I 100% recommend the Revlon Colourstay range of foundations. I recently brought Revlon Colorstay Whipped from the Priceline 40% off sale. I apply this using my Real Techniques buffing brush (I purchase all my Real Techniques brushes from iHerb), and then I blend it in using my Beauty Blender, which is my one true love when it comes to flawless skin. I purchased the Beauty Blender from Sephora whilst on holidays in Canada, however you can purchase it in Australia from the Crush Cosmetics I've tried the dupes, and honestly nothing compares to this! You run it under a tap, squeeze it out and towel dry so it's damp and use it to buff your foundation in. I love this and it has become a foundation routine must have.

Next, concealer. I have relatively well behaved skin, however have dark circles under my eyes, for which I use the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer in 'brightening' with my Model's Prefer blending brush. I also use my Beauty Blender to buff it all out perfectly.

After this, I set my skin using the Australis Ready Set Go finishing powder, using my Real Techniques contour brush - I don't know why but I find this brush is perfect for buffing in translucent powder, especially for under the eyes and around the nose.

Lastly, using my Real Techniques buffing brush, I buff in my Mac Studio Fix powder. This stuff is a god send, I have been using it for years and I love it.

To finish off, if I want my skin to appear nice and glowy, I spray my skin with Mac Fix +. This is NOT a setting spray, it's a water based spray that makes your skin look dewy, reduces the chances of your foundation oxidising, and gives your skin a lovely glow.

I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoy these products!

First blog post: Priceline haul

Like most make-up lovers, the Priceline 40% sale is an exciting time of the year for me. However now I am on a uni student budget, I tried not to splurge as much as usual and stick to (somewhat) of a budget.

The first thing I picked up was Revlon Colourstay Whipped. Like lots of oily skinned girls, I'm a big fan of the original Revlon Colourstay, and recently I've been using Revlon Photoready, which I really like, but I still feel there are better things out there. I've heard good things about this product, the only con so far is the packaging...not too fond on the glass jar, no matter how lux it seems. The RRP for this is $34.95, and I got it for $20.90 (bargain!).

Next, I purchased the Face of Australia SPF 15+ primer, which at $7.80 (usually $12.95) was a steal, however I only purchased it due to the fact that the two primers I was initially going to purchase (She Magic Primer and L'oreal Lumi Primer) had sold out (boo!). It's apparently a dupe for the Napoleon Perdis Auto-Pilot Pre Foundation Primer, which I have used, and quite liked, so I am still keen to try it out. I also like the matte-black packaging.

After reading a review online of the Models Prefer Airbrush Concealer brush, at $7.80 on sale (usually $12.95) now was the perfect time to buy it. I tried it yesterday and I loved it - the quality is comparable to the Real Techniques brushes, and the big fluffy brush is perfect for under-eye concealer.

Next up, to go with the concealer brush, I purchased Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer, in 'brightener'. After seeing that this is many girls holy grail under-eye concealer, I had to try it. This is usually $18.95, and I purchased it for $11.40.

The last thing I purchased, which is something I have bought a million times before is the Essence I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara. I'm a mascara junkie, who's spent $80+ on mascara before, so it's a great feeling to be able to buy an amazing mascara at $3 (yes, $3!!!). This mascara not only gives my lashes so much volume, but also lengthens and separates them as well. This is a purchase you could make year round at Priceline, and not feel guilty about it!

All up I spent just over $50 ($50.90 to be exact), which usually would've cost me $84.75. Priceline 40% off sale, you have treated me well, and I am already looking forward to the next one!
